Youth Art Camp with The Dancehouse! 

Is your young artist ready to trade their “I can’t” for “look what I made”? This summer, we aren’t just painting inside the lines—we’re rewriting the rules of creativity.

Creative Movement

This class is the perfect introduction to dance!
 
We focus on important developmental skills through fun activities like follow the leader, copying rhythms, memorizing patterns, expressing characters, and exciting challenges. This class is perfect for young dancers that need to move, like to express themselves, and who love music, play, creating. This class is open level, and we welcome all abilities.

Ballet/Jazz I

This class is intended for beginning movers that want to learn more about ballet, and jazz, and have a need to express themselves, and move! We focus on learning ballet & jazz terminology through follow the leader dance games, and across the floor patterns.

Ages: 5+6

We focus on both new style choreography, hip hop culture, and learning the basics of breakin’. Through fun improvisational activities, choreographic routines, across the floor exercises, and group choreography challenges, students will gain confidence, respect for others, teamwork skills, and strength. This class is beginning level, and we welcome all abilities, and even have an optional end of session performance.

We focus on breakin’ history, culture, footwork, freezes, toprocks, and power moves. Through fun improvisational activities, patterns, and across the floor exercises, students will gain confidence, respect for others, teamwork skills, and strength.  This class is perfect for youth artists that want to create, get their hands dirty, and need a creative outlet. We focus on drawing, color theory, sculpture, painting, upcycling, and more! In this relaxed, judgement free environment, artists are encouraged to express themselves and take chances! At the same time, we focus on learning new skill sets, respect for others’ and their art, and cleaning up after ourselves.
